First two full page ads; Spring Garden Rye / Manhattan Cocktail and Pflueger reels & lures.

"Ding" Darling as chief of the Biological Survey. A photo; "White Water!"  - The high road to freedom--a river, a riverman, and a good canoe! " Ye Tale of Ye Modern Robin Hood " - When sportsman and farmer go a-hunting - by Fordyce W. Brown - a (very long) hunting story - supposed to be humor - hard to read if you ask me... " Holy Mackerel-a Two Reel Thriller! " by John Hume - amazing tale of mackerel fishing on the Jersey shore. They actually swapped reels while the fish was on! " Long Trail from Kentucky " by Robert E. Pinkerton - a story about a Kentucky hunter, Charles Roscoe Johnstone, who ended up in Alaska. He raised his family on "A little flour, cartridges, a few clothes - nothing else was needed". " Trout Stream in April " by Harrison Lee - a perfect day on Meadow Run (could be anywhere). " Plain Tales from the Hills " by Long Bow - a criminal monkey story, a poem about spitting on the bait, record largemouth bass... " The Boss, the Bass, and the Big One " by Clement Crouch - a daydream turns into adventure at a small lake in Minnesota, makes ya wanna go... " What's All the Shooting About ?" - basic layout of a Skeet field, and a play-by-play description of all 25 shots. In " Your Fishing Scrapbook " by Robert E. Coulson; use of two wooden boxes for keeping worms, catching fish on a small lake or stream that is supposed to be "fished to death", using a telescoping rod to get through brush, the "Ken Kit" - an aluminum box designed by Kenneth A. Reid, reels for bait casting that are better and cost a lot less than five years ago, sketches w/ descriptions of embryo and imago stages of natural trout food, northern, rock bass, and crappie tips, many different names for lake trout, and answers a couple letters. - THREE full-page whiskey ads, a Great Colt revolver ad, a full-page Winchester ad for Models 21, 12 & 42, and LOTS OF TACKLE, LURES, REELS AND RODS IN THIS ONE - I think I saw a few boat motors, too! The cover art alone is well worth the price - the stories and photos just add to the value. Then you check out the ads for guns and ammo, fishing and camping equipment,whiskey, tobacco, etc., and you soon find yourself in "man heaven"! (some "wimmen" like it, too) In " Living Out of Doors " by Dillon Wallace; boiling water in a birch bark kettle, jack chain for hanging pots, a bright tin potato baker, a shotshell waterproof match box, what firewood is good, and then he answers a dozen letters ; including advice on spending a year in the Canadian wilderness, erbswurst, boots, trapping in Canada, tanning snakeskin, the "Adikey"... In the firearms department, Captain E. C. Crossman discusses "The Forgotten Rifle; a Colt .44 caliber trombone, stocks...of "dumb" rifle designers, "stupid", "silly", "fool", "joke"... he then covers some other great subjects; Model 19 Savage, double Winchester shotgun, double gun recoil effect, Henry P. Davis accepts a position at Remington, skeleton stock for Colt Woodsman... In the "Dog Department" this month; a listing of championship-winning dogs (and their owners) for 1933-1934, and feeding table scraps is discussed. Henry P. Davis has news of accepting a job with Remington Arms Co., he leaves H&F's "Associate Editor" position but will continue as Dog Editor. In " History, Natural and Unnnatural "; fun story and facts - including the peeper or peep-frog. Inside the back cover is a full-page CANADIAN CLUB whiskey ad, and on back cover; a suitable-for framing ad for Remington   shotguns - Model 11 & Model 31.
