Van Staal® VF SERIES 12HD Reel
A light weight powerhouse big game reel (only 9.2oz), machined from barstock 6061-T aluminum featuring one of the smoothest and strongest sealed disc drag reels on the market. The HD is the Heavy Duty series of successor reels to their award winning C-Vex reels. Relentless refinement has enabled them to reduce weight while incorporating a heavy duty version of their famous drag design. Robust housing and unique machining geometry make this a very rigid reel that does not deflect or rub under heavy drag use. Type 2 anodized and suitable for freshwater and heavy duty duty saltwater fishing situations.
The Van Staal VF12HD would be a great companion to your favorite 11-12-13 wt rod and would work well for king salmon, musky, tarpon, sailfish, GT's and big jacks and any other species one would would pursue with a 11-13 wt rod. It also makes a great Spey/Two Handed reel
