The revamped spool management system is what really defines the reel: thoughtful modifications to the magnetic system, spool spindle, and pinion gear all combine to ensure that the spool is under control at every point in the cast. Backlashes occur due to sudden changes in spool speed, changes that are managed by this new system. As a result, backlashing is minimized when the system is set correctly, even without heavy use of the tension knob. Now, the Cyclone will not only be one of Sixgill's most affordable reels, it will also be one of their most caster-friendly, for those at any level of experience.
