Shimano scorpion mg. (Chronarch 50mg) This reel has a 100% magnesium frame. Has a very ported spool. As the craze of bfs sweeps over America 🇺🇸, here is the genesis of this movement. From reels such as this do we see a bunch of reels trying to do what this one did 30 years ago. If someone put micro bearings in, filled the spool only 1/2 way , this reel would compete with modern bfs reels, and 99% of the time it would perform better than them. This reel operates as new or maybe even better as I personally polished the shaft etc. I threw 1/4 oz baits with ease. Coulda thrown 1/8 maybe even 1/16th of an oz without issue. So if you want premium performance, premium quality, premium appearance, but can’t afford premium $. This reel lacks nothing a 500 dollar high end reel has.
