New I-DC5 digital brake system is preventing backlash quite effectively with the least setting change. You choose one from three line materials, F, N and P for fluorocarbon, nylon and PE braid respectively inside palming cup, and then you choose strength at dial exposed at the bottom of the reel. The dial has 1-4 and W for brake strength. W is for windy condition to apply the max brake to cast against strong wind. Then DC system does everything for you, and you don't have to put much attention to them. Specifications:
